Jrney is a service that matches people that need to send something (Senders) or require a lift to a destination (Passengers), with those going the same way, and that can bring the item along or provide a lift (Drivers).
Everyone that registers on Jrney needs to use their own first and last name, mail address and mobile number. This is to ensure the best possible experience and to ensure the security of all the users in the system. Failure to add real verifiable information might result in either suspension or deletion of account.
Please make sure that the vehicle registration, make/model provided to you are the same as the vehicle the Driver is using when collecting your parcel. If it is not we suggest you immediately cancel the journey.
Please make sure you respond to Users on a timely basis and in a friendly manner, since they are all here trying to help you on your journey. By responding in this way you help create a more helpful and effective community.
Some Users may suggest a higher or lower price than the one posted by you. Remember that different people might have different means of helping you, so prices may differ. If the price does not suit you, then you can decline. If you are chatting with a potential Driver, Passenger or Sender and the price quoted is not acceptable, politely decline and explain why. Perhaps circumstances may arise that give the User has chance to lower or increase the price.
Make certain that you keep your task description as accurate as possible. By not being accurate about size, location for pickup or delivery, or items being sent, it will make the job for the Driver more difficult, and a disagreement could result in your task released and not getting delivered. Everybody loses.
You should try to keep all of your conversations in the system by using the chat function on Jrney. We understand that sometimes a phone call is easier, but it benefits all if communication is kept in one platform, and it makes it a lot easier for us to help you out if the need arises.
If you have any questions while trying to work out the details with a User please don't hesitate to reach out to us at hello@jrney.co
If someone you encounter in the system is not acting as you think they should, let us know. We will look into it and take action where appropriate.

Please make sure your car registration and make/model input on your advert is the same as the vehicle you use for the journey. Senders and Passengers will check this information before using your service and if the information does not match there is a good chance your journey will be cancelled.

Jrney is not a delivery auction. It is a community of people helping people. We are aware that some offers are not sufficient for the amount of work involved. When suggesting an alternative price, take into consideration that this is a service that uses spare capacity and that the price should reflect that.
Our community is based on honesty and transparency. If you accept a task, then it is given that you will fulfil it. Of course, if you are ultimately unable to fulfil the delivery or lift, then, as soon as you become aware of this, notify the Sender or Passenger and this could impact your rating and reviews.
Make certain you agree all the details of what needs to be delivered or the details of the lift before agreeing to do it. Details to consider are:
By clearing this all up straight away you remove the chances for potential difficulties later on.
If you show up to pick up a parcel or Passenger and find that the details were misrepresented we advise you to let us know at hello@jrney.co as soon as possible, and release yourself from the task. Do not confront the Sender or Passenger and demand more for the journey.
The price that you agreed with the Sender or Passenger when figuring out the details is the full amount you can request. That is regardless of unforeseen expenses, i.e. tolls, petrol, parking, etc. You should not demand more than was the agreed upon amount.
To be able to help you if something unforeseen happens you have to make sure that you do things within the system, such as asking for more or less money or messaging. Doing this violates the terms and conditions of being a Driver on Jrney.

You should ultimately be the one who delivers a task that is agreed with a Sender or Passenger. If you accept the task, you cannot have it delivered by a third party. This also ensures that you will be rated in the system for the service you deliver and this will create a better experience for you and a community as a whole.

Under the Animal Welfare Act (of England & Wales) 2006 you have a duty of care to provide for the needs of any animals you send (Sender) or deliver (Driver). All reasonable steps must be taken to make sure your pet is not transported in any way that could cause stress or suffering.
Here are some guidelines from the SPCA:
If you have any concerns, we're available on hello@jrney.co.
No, providing you are only asking Passengers for a contribution towards the running costs of your car as we recommend (and not making a profit), car sharing will not affect your insurance in any way. This assumes that you are traveling in a vehicle seating eight passengers or less and that carrying passengers is not your business or a highly regular occurance. If you are still concerned as to whether you are acting appropriately, the best thing to do is to contact your insurance company to ensure that you are acting within their guidelines. Note Jrney does not warrant that your insurance covers your providing a lift and delivery.
Jrney leaves it in the hands of the Driver to decide upon the size of the charge they would like to ask for. However, if you are struggling to decide upon how much to charge for petrol, a sensible approach would be for Drivers to ask their Passengers or Senders for a fee in the region of R0.50 per passenger per kilometer. Users can use tools such as the AA route planner or Google Maps to estimate the journey length and work out the desired contributions. Rounding up or down payments avoids the need for change and is obviously a sensible solution.
Jrney has an internal messaging system that users can use to communicate. Once you have found someone who you think is interested, send them a message using the messaging service to confirm your travel or delivery requirements. Meeting in a public area is recommended, ideally somewhere close to public transport in case your travel partner is unable to make the trip.
